Strengthening Agri-Entrepreneurship through Exposure and Learning

Under the Axis Bank Foundation (ABF) supported project in Madhya Pradesh, AEGF continues to empower rural youth through skill-building and enterprise development in agriculture. In September, the project focused on providing practical exposure and field-based learning opportunities to newly trained Agri-Entrepreneurs (AEs) to help them better understand the AE ecosystem and its business potential.

Key Highlights

  • A large-scale exposure visit was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Jabalpur and KVK Sagar, engaging 204 newly trained AEs who recently completed their online training.
  • During the visit, participants interacted with successful AEs managing businesses in diverse archetypes including input shops, digital banking, vegetable nurseries, vermicomposting units, market linkages, and milk collection centers.
  • The sessions provided first-hand insights into enterprise operations, customer engagement, and financial management, helping participants understand how to scale and sustain rural agri-businesses.
  • AEs also learned about innovations in climate-smart practices, market-oriented production, and digital solutions for improving last-mile service delivery.

Impact

The exposure program helped participants deepen their understanding of business models, identify market opportunities, and recognize the importance of community-based entrepreneurship. The visit also reinforced the role of AEs as change agents bridging knowledge, technology, and markets to enhance farmer incomes and promote sustainable agriculture across Madhya Pradesh.

  • Male AEs- 150
  • Female AEs- 27
