Global Shifts, Local Strength: Seizing the Moment for Indian Agriculture
As the global agriculture landscape continues to change from increased automation in the U.S. and China’s shifting import policies, to the re-opening of trade corridors after biosecurity alerts, the ripple effect is beginning to show in India. For India, this creates fresh opportunities: rising demand for agri-tech tools, a surge in rapeseed meal exports to China, and lessons in livestock safety and supply chain resilience. These developments signal a strategic moment for India to strengthen its agri-exports and tech leadership.
At Syngenta Foundation India (SFI) and the Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEGF), our grassroots mission aligns with these global currents. While the world pivots towards tech-driven solutions, we are equipping Agri-Entrepreneurs (AEs) with access to agri-tech, sustainable practices, and market linkages. Whether it’s enabling sericulture diversification in regions like MP and King Chilli in Assam or enhancing traceability and safety in livestock and poultry through training and vet linkages, our work directly echoes the global call for resilient, safe, and tech-enabled agriculture.
As countries shift supply chains and seek dependable partners, India has the chance to step up as a key player. But it begins from the bottom—from village to value chain. This is our strategic moment to scale agri-exports, invest in local innovation, and strengthen our positioning as a leader in agri-tech and sustainability.
Let’s continue building from the ground up, ensuring that our farmers and agri-entrepreneurs are ready to walk through the global shifting trajectory.
