Driving Agri-Entrepreneurship through Exposure Visits

To foster innovative and sustainable agribusiness practices, an exposure visit was conducted on 03 July 2025 for 30 Agri-Entrepreneurs (AEs) from the 1st and 3rd batches of the Nashik Project. Hosted at Venkateshwara Agro Processing Co-operative Society, Malegaon, the visit provided first-hand insights into successful models in organic farming, value addition, and rural enterprise development. 

Key Highlights  

  • Orientation & Operations: Sessions conducted on cooperative structures, marketing strategies, and sustainability practices. 
  • Practical Demonstrations: Hands-on training held on vermicompost production using fixed and movable units, along with loose housing systems for cattle. 
  • Sustainable Technologies: Demonstrations on biogas generation processes with linkage to government schemes, and practical training on soil testing with report interpretation. 
  • Crop & Farm Diversification: Exposure visits arranged to organic turmeric value chain units and farms growing mango, pomegranate, drumstick, custard apple, and vegetables. 
  • Entrepreneurial Planning: Group discussions facilitated on low-investment ventures, including vermicompost, mushroom cultivation, digital banking, and nursery enterprises. 
  • Value Addition & Processing 
    • Dairy products: ghee, curd, and buttermilk. 
    • Cow dung–based products: natural dyes, incense sticks. 
    • Geranium-based aromatic incense production.
