Strengthening Farmer-Centric Practices in Maharashtra

With continued efforts to enhance sustainable agriculture, July 2025 saw a series of impactful initiatives across multiple districts in Maharashtra under the Axis Bank Foundation-supported project. Through farmer exposure visits, business inaugurations, night meetings, and practical demonstrations, the program focused on promoting climate-smart agriculture, improving farmer livelihoods, and strengthening AE-led interventions. 

Key Highlights – July 2025 

Maharashtra Agriculture Day: Celebrated across villages, engaging farmers on climate change, crop diseases, and agriculture’s importance. 

AE Business Launch: Agri-entrepreneur Mayur Jadhav started a silage-making unit, with live demos on maize chopping, compacting, and storage for livestock nutrition. 

Demo Farmer Exposures: Farmers in Panoli and Tambhere learned mulching and CSA practices in tomato and zucchini farming, sparking adoption interest. 

Night Farmer Meetings: Held in various villages on AE model, ABF & EDF projects, climate-smart practices, counterfeit product awareness, and AEGF YouTube promotion. 

AE Selection Progress: Block-wise recruitment advanced, with several blocks meeting or nearing AE selection targets.
